PMI® (Project Management Institute) is a world leader in the field of Project Management and awards PMP® and related certifications for the project managers and project teams. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is the entry level certification for professionals aspiring a career in Project Management.

Project Management Professional (PMP®) is the advanced level certification for practicing project managers who have demonstrated competence and experience in the project management domain. There are training programs designed and developed by expert practitioners of Project Management and approved by PMI® who conduct such training programs to help the aspirants to succeed in these certifications.

The course will be based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) and will also stress upon the practical applications with adequate tools and techniques needed for Project managers. Those who have been working in project management for at least 3 years are eligible for PMP® but before the exam, they must attend 35 hours of training.

All the training programs are designed to train the participants for 35 hours over a period of either 4 days or 5 days. Anyone not meeting the 3 years project management work experience can apply for the CAPM certification, which is a pre-cursor to the coveted PMP® certification.

These certifications are valid for 3 years from the date of certification and the professional can maintain the certification beyond 3 years by aquiring PDU's (professional development units) - to prove continous learning and staying on top of the subject.

PMP® has become a word wide well known certification and continues to stay in top-10 certs of the world. It's no wonder why every project manager has one.
